Abbazia Collemedio Resort & Spa

From June 4th to June 11th, I stayed at Abbazia and came away already wanting to return. The building is lovely, tucked into nature with a peaceful feel. The staff were the real highlight: kind, welcoming, and ready to help with anything I asked. Mario was fantastic throughout. I’d happily recommend a stay here.

I came away with a week of lovely memories, from the view of the local plants outside my room to the cats that seemed to follow guests around. I saw three of them, all beautiful and well fed. Even the modest room I had was splendid, with a huge bed, probably queen-sized, and a well-equipped bathroom. The spa was fantastic, and the staff were hardworking and very friendly. There was a slight language barrier, but everyone did their best to understand each request. I’m an art student, so I may be biased, but turning an abbey into such a calm, meditative place feels like a tribute to rural Italy. Forest walks nearby are easy to access, too. I’m allergic to pineapple, and when I was tired and not looking well, I accidentally ordered a drink with pineapple, or ananas. The bartender noticed something was wrong, asked me about it, and remade the drink without charging me. I paid anyway, because you deserved it!

We had such a good time here. It’s a very historic hotel, and the staff are cheerful and friendly. One of the best places we’ve stayed. Good luck for the future. Pat and CHRIS BOWMAN.

The road up is a little bumpy, but the lovely mountain views at the top make the drive worthwhile. It’s a large resort that still feels cozy, with a spa, gym, bar, and a well-kept pool area. The pool was clean, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Our standard double room wasn’t huge, but there was enough space for two, and it was neat and very clean. A good spot to relax.
