Country House Casal Cerqueto

The setting is lovely, tucked into an old hamlet surrounded by nature, though it takes a bit of a drive from the main road. There are plenty of activities, including horse riding, archery, and tennis, all at fair prices. Breakfast was generous, and the woman who looked after it was especially kind and professional. The man managing the place wasn't very smiley or chatty, but he was nice and helpful. I visited years ago and thought the room was a little expensive: we paid €75 in low season for a small apartment, even though there were only two of us. Still, it's a good place.

There’s a lovely pool for children, a pretty pond, and lots of wildlife around, from porcupines and wild boars to other animals. In summer, the olive trees hum with cicadas while the figs ripen. The staff were so sweet, and the Umbrian dishes and tiramisu were great, with vegetarian choices as well. It’s about half an hour from one of my favorite cities in Italy, Assisi. ❤️🌿✨🌞

We came for my daughter's graduation and stayed on half board at Casal Cerqueto from July 29th to 27th. The farmhouse is set in a peaceful natural area, and it works well as a base for visiting towns around Umbria. Our rooms were roomy and clean, and everyone on staff was attentive and friendly. Tiziana welcomed us warmly. There were lots of homemade cakes and other things at the breakfast buffet, and dinner was excellent, with a different feel each evening. Angela greeted us with a smile at both meals, and she was very professional. Compliments to the chef for the lovely food. A great choice if you want to unwind.

The pool is lovely, and the staff were kind and ready to help. The place is very quiet, with practically nothing nearby. It’s conveniently located not far from the E45, though the final 600 meters are narrow and quite bumpy. The rooms are spacious, but the bathrooms feel very dated. Breakfast was decent, although repetitive: mostly cakes, including gluten-free ones, plus scrambled eggs and salami. I’d hoped for more variety.
