Sylvia greeted us herself and shared loads of useful tips. She was helpful, polite, and spoke fluent English, which was a relief since my Italian is pretty limited. The apartment is a real find in the middle of Como’s old town, with the city’s busy atmosphere right outside. You can cook with wonderful produce from the shop downstairs, grab great coffee and pastries just 20 steps away, or walk 5m from the unusual front door to two restaurants or a gelato shop. It’s lively, so don’t expect quiet: you’ll hear the duomo bells, morning deliveries, and people chatting in the evening. We loved the location, the thoughtful touches, how clean it was, and the warm welcome. A really enjoyable stay, highly recommended!

The host was very friendly and even came in with us to point out some of the main places to see in Como. The apartment was large, clean, and well equipped, in a perfect spot on a little side street between two squares.

La Chiave di Volta is right in the heart of Como, a great base for exploring the city. The apartment is welcoming, tastefully furnished, and has plenty of comforts, with impeccable cleanliness and attention to detail. The owner’s kindness and hospitality made a real difference. She was always available with helpful tips on what to see and where to eat. I’d highly recommend it to anyone planning a memorable stay in Como.

A wonderful apartment in the very heart of the historic center. The cathedral is 150 m away, and it’s a 3-minute walk to the lake. The lovely hosts have made it feel just like home, warm and cozy. There’s a bakery, supermarket, fish shop, and vegetable shop nearby. The building is about 200 years old and right in the center, so nights can get a bit noisy. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. 😉😊😎
