Hotel Lizard

We only stayed one night, but the price made this an easy five out of five for us. Parking at the hotel was especially convenient in Como, and the location made it easy to explore on foot. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the air conditioning kept the room cool on a hot day. It was a little dated, though cozy, clean, and perfectly adequate for a short visit. We also had a lovely view of the city from our balcony.

After a week on the road through Switzerland and Italy, I finally got a really restful night's sleep at Lizard Hotel. It was a peaceful place to stay, about a 10-minute walk from the city center and 15-20 minutes from the lake. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. In the July heat, having both AC and a fan was a lifesaver. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. I'd highly recommend it.

We booked two nights in Como and found this three-star hotel within walking distance of the old town. Our room was simple and generously sized, with clean, freshly painted walls and comfortable beds. Check-in and check-out at reception were quick and friendly. We had breakfast there too: fresh coffee and croissants, along with packaged biscuits and bottled juice. A decent way to start the day. The hotel has its own parking, and we were given a space at no charge during our stay.

For the price, both the restaurant and hotel are a decent deal. The dining room has lovely exposed stone pillars and brick arches, though seeing a note about frozen products on every menu item was a bit disheartening. Still, both steaks were cooked just right and the meals tasted good. The hotel room was basic but practical, with thin walls, and getting there by car was awkward because of all the one-way streets and restricted roads. Breakfast was decent, with a good range of baked sweets.
