The daughter at Palazzo del Pero was warm and friendly, and happily showed us the antiques. That was during our recent trip to Como, when I brought in two watches with a lot of sentimental value just to have their batteries changed. Her father broke one of them so badly it couldn't be repaired. The stem and pin were broken, and the pins holding the watch face were damaged too. At first they accepted responsibility and offered to repair both watches for free, but after that I couldn't trust them with the work. I took the watches to another shop in Switzerland for an assessment. They said one was beyond repair and fixing the other would cost 150GBP. When I contacted Palazzo del Pero with this, they denied doing anything wrong and said there was no way they could have broken the watches. I'd avoid this place unless you're willing to risk having your watches damaged.

A lovely little family shop, packed with beautiful jewellery and vintage watches. The owner clearly loves what he does, and when I visited he was wearing a 60s Omega Flightmaster chrono. The service is quick and the prices are very fair. Definitely worth a look, this place is a gem.
