We were there in June 2025 and felt right at home. The view from the apartment takes in the whole city and the lake, and everything was very clean. It had all the appliances and dishes we needed, plus lots of little things we might need. Irina, the apartment owner, speaks Russian and I think English too. She knew all the details, was ready to help with anything, and offered advice on how to enjoy our time and save money. There’s a Route 1 stop within walking distance. Tickets cost 1.5 euro at the tobacco shop, while buying onboard can cost 2-5 euro. A supermarket with tasty Italian products, plenty of cafés and the lake promenade are also nearby. There’s lots to do, from simple walks to more active outings. We took a boat to the neighboring town of Leno for 17 euro per ticket. There’s a free beach right by the pier with very clear water and a lovely view. We returned by bus, which took an hour and cost 5 euro. The funicular costs 6.6 euro return and goes up to 800 meters; you can continue higher along the route, where there’s a park and a café with a stunning view. Milan is an hour away by train, with a return ticket for 10 euro. Transport runs until late, so nearby towns are easy to visit too. Some have free beaches and cost 5 euro to reach; paid beaches are around 20 euro. We’re very grateful to Irina for her hospitality, and would definitely recommend staying here.
