The shuttle was a real help since taxis were so expensive, and the regular bus stop was right outside the Hotel. The bus service worked well too, though it took a little figuring out. It’s especially handy if you’d rather avoid a long walk. My husband and I stayed at the Belvedere for 10 days to celebrate our 50th Anniversary, and it was spectacular. The friendly staff welcomed us with Champagne and went out of their way to make the trip special. We loved our room with its beautiful balcony and amazing coast view. The setting and the people, especially Thomass, made this feel like a dream anniversary on the Amalfi Coast. We really appreciated the service and would recommend the Belvedere for a romantic break or a special occasion.

Getting around from here was frustrating. The hotel bus stops running at 16.40 hrs, and public buses often pass the stop outside without stopping because they’re full. In Amalfie, we had to queue for an hour just to try to get on one. Staying in Amalfie would be better for access to all areas by boat. The hotel is a long way from the center, the decor feels dated, and it’s overpriced for what it is.

At 4:30am on September 19, 2025, I went down to the lobby because my roommate was very sick and I couldn’t sleep. I was worried I might get sick too, and hoped to rest a little in the lobby. I asked Mauro, who was working the night shift, whether I could sit in the other room since it was dark. He said it was closed, so I arranged my luggage and sat in the lobby with a movie playing on my phone. Around 5:00am, Mauro turned on all the lobby lights and left the front door wide open. It felt deliberate and disturbing, especially when I was already having a hard time as a guest. When I asked his name, he told me “not to write bullshit.” At 6:11am he was outside smoking, and the smoke had come into the lobby along with the smell of passing cars. The other employees I met during my stay were terrific, but after this treatment I won’t return. I’m hoping you agree this was improper and will speak with Mauro so other guests aren’t treated this way. I’d been reconsidering whether to send this complaint, but his “not to write bullshit” remark made me decide to do so. Thank you for your attention.

The private beach never felt crowded, and had a private, prestigious feel. The service and cuisine were great too. There’s also a very nice restaurant nearby with a free shuttle, and the hotel can arrange a booking. This place feels like a hidden gem and great value. I loved the sea and pine scents, the breathtaking views, and the retro interiors that give this classic Amalfi coast hotel its character. I hope they keep the 60s style and don’t renovate it. I also hope rates don’t rise too much, because we’ll definitely be back.

We hardly went out to eat because the restaurant’s food and Amalfi coast view were so good. Breakfast and supper were both outstanding. The whole staff was the biggest surprise: they helped with check-in, day trips, transportation, laundry and parking. Pepe, the restaurant manager, greeted us warmly every day and treated us like family. At the front desk, everyone worked hard to make our stay fabulous, and Francesco gave us honest, useful advice for our trips along the coast by car, boat and shuttle. Hotel Belvedere is just minutes from the Town of Amalfi, Italy. We were taken aback by the coast view, and found the staff pleasant and helpful. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The clean salt water pool was warm, with poolside drinks and food service and a life guard. There’s easy access to the sea, with a beach and water taxi pick-up. The reception staff spoke English and were always available. I can’t say enough about the stay and highly recommend Hotel Belvedere. Complete 5 star rating.
