Rosa Spina B&B

Luciana was so friendly and spontaneous that we felt right at home. We still miss our morning chats and the figs she used to pick for us. My wife and I spent 15 days at this charming B&B among the olive trees. Our room was a decent size and opened onto a big terrace where we had quick dinners in the evenings. The location works well for a few days at the beach or for trips inland, including Monte Vettore, Gran Sasso, Campli, and Monteprandone. Thanks so much, Luciana. We hope to stay with you again. Mrs. Luciana deserves credit for the way she runs the place and for her art, especially the beautiful paintings and ceramics. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with very comfortable beds. The quadruple room and white room were both clean and had a lovely balcony. It’s a very beautiful, quiet place, and breakfast was plentiful and varied, with excellent freshly baked cakes.

We did find somewhere to stay in the end, after about fifteen minutes of searching, and that property welcomed us. Still, at 1:30 a.m. we were left without a room or anywhere to sleep, even though we had a confirmed reservation. If I were the B&B owner, I’d have tried to help two people in that situation, or at least been more accommodating. This all happened on the night of July 30th. We had booked through Booking.com, as we often do, received confirmation, and entered an arrival time between 1 and 2 a.m. in the reservation notes. We arrived at 1:30 and called right away. The woman on the phone said there was no confirmed booking and that they didn’t accept arrivals after 11 p.m. She blamed Booking.com. The listing says guests can arrive until 10 p.m., but just below that it says to let them know well in advance in the “special requests” field if the time is different. That’s exactly what we did. Maybe our mistake was not calling the property too, but with the booking confirmed, we didn’t think that was necessary. We’d booked through Booking before without needing to do that. I’m sorry to write this, especially after seeing the other positive reviews. The property may be good, but I wasn’t satisfied with the courtesy or, especially, the availability. I wouldn’t have written this if the woman who answered had at least suggested other places that might take us in. Every other property we called right afterward did that.

We couldn’t have been welcomed more warmly. Mrs. Luciana looks after her guests with real care, and she’s a wonderful artist too. The peaceful, beautiful setting is made even better by her rare human qualities. A lovely experience.
