B&B Cieli di Dante

The apartments have a lovely Italian feel and are close to Conversano's old town. Everything was clean and well equipped, and the place seemed new. The staff were friendly too.

Absolutely wonderful!

The only thing going for the place is its spot in the historic center. The bed was like a platform, raised about 160 cm off the floor, with a ladder to get up to it. The jacuzzi wouldn't work, and there wasn't even a plug to fill it. There was no shower curtain either, so water ended up all over the floor. You could hear everything, it felt like the neighbors' heels were right above your head. I was also asked by the host/waitress who greeted me to cancel my Booking.com reservation so she could take cash without giving a receipt. When I told the truth about my experience, management even threatened me. And the owner's politeness deserves a mention too. A terrible stay, with everything else a disappointment.

We had made a proper Booking.com reservation and asked if we could bring our dog. Then we were encouraged to book directly instead, to save €20. During the stay, the door handles and taps seemed to be held together by luck, the hob kept tripping the power, and the bunk bed was unsuitable and dangerous. I also sprained my ankle. We left at the end without making a fuss, just explaining that we hadn't found a broom or vacuum to pick up the dog hair. Afterward we were verbally attacked and accused of leaving a broken socket, though it wasn't broken when we left, and of needing to disinfect the apartment. The issue was simply vacuuming the dog hair, assuming we even had a dog. Rude, threatening, and dishonest. We should have checked the reviews first.
