Parco dei Manieri

The hotel is beautiful, the food was excellent though expensive, and the staff were kind. Still, the stay was stressful, and it feels like the owners care more about saving money than keeping guests happy enough to recommend the place. We booked six rooms, including the bridal suite, for our wedding in September 2018. It was a little expensive, but we went ahead because it was right by the venue, with lots of space and a big pool. When I arrived, the bridal suite wasn’t very clean, with dead bugs everywhere, and its bathroom was tiny and outdated. The pool wasn’t very clean either. The owners kept switching off the electricity, so we repeatedly had to ask for it to be turned back on. We ended up without air conditioning and even without wifi the day before the wedding, when I urgently needed to coordinate guests arriving from different countries. Nobody else was staying at the hotel, so it seemed reasonable to expect them to leave the lights on for us. At checkout, they charged us for food we hadn’t had. When we objected, the owner said, “you had the whole hotel to yourself, so you can pay a bit more. What's the problem?” We’d already spent several thousand euros, so being asked for more was a shock. Maybe they assume all foreigners are rich?
