The nights are quiet, with a magnificent starry sky, though the road is busier than you’d expect from the map, which makes it seem like you’re deep in the mountains with only nature and few people around. It’s a cozy stone house with a tiny green garden and a magnificent apple tree; the apples are delicious. There are friendly dogs, beautiful horses, tasty tomatoes, clean cows, crowing roosters, and a thoughtful donkey. The grass is full of life, with a variety of interesting insects I haven’t seen in ages. Bring insect repellent if you want to open the windows at night, since there are mosquitoes too.

The owners were so helpful and kind, and the apartment had everything we needed, with comfortable beds too. A lovely spot for anyone who enjoys nature or is travelling with a dog. We had a wonderful weekend, thank you.

Mara keeps talking about Gobbi. I'm her mother, and she already wants to come back...
