Mulino Del Pita

We were ten people and a dog, and there was plenty to do or simply enjoy, from the pool and huge grounds to the playhouse and nearby stream. The mill feels rustic and close to nature, and it's a great property for a large group. Management communicated well and was helpful, while contactless check-in and checkout were straightforward. One thing to know before driving there: the house is down in a valley, reached by a very steep road. Motorhomes and low-slung cars can't make it through.

It's a beautiful cottage, though getting there is difficult and it's a long way from civilization. Bring a car that can handle steep hills, and avoid taking a very large one.

The grounds are lovely, with a heated pool, games room and lots of outdoor space. It's a great place to spend time in nature with friends. During our week there in August 2020, while we were living with Covid-19, we managed to relax completely and had a wonderful holiday. Veronica was welcoming, helpful and kind from the start, and she and Michele always did their best to meet our needs. My only suggestion is to rethink the cookware for guests. Cooking for 8-9 people can be tricky without the right pots and pans. Still, that doesn't take away from my 5-star rating.

We spent 14 days there with seven people aged 16 to 54, and were thrilled with our holiday in the breathtaking countryside. Communication with Veronica and Rebecca was always quick and easy. The mill is well equipped, especially the kitchen, and the beds were worth a mention too. The pool was great, though there weren't enough sun loungers for everyone. Barga is about a 20-minute drive along a very winding road. Thank you so much, Mulino del Pita is definitely worth a visit!
