The quiet, peaceful setting made it easy to relax, and the location worked well for reaching plenty of nearby sights. The house was warm despite the season and low temperatures, with good insulation, fan coils and heated towel rails for winter, plus air conditioning for summer. Everything was clean and fresh, from the towels and linens to the two bedrooms. Both had LCD TVs; one had a double bed and the smaller room had two singles. The bathroom is small, but has everything needed for personal hygiene. The new house also has a practical kitchen with an oven, stovetop, fridge, microwave, extractor hood and coffee machine, so we could prepare our own food, and there’s separate waste collection. Breakfast supplies included branded rusks, individual portions of Nutella and jam, yogurt, milk, fruit juice and coffee capsules. Alessandro, the owner, was polite, kind and always ready to help from our first contact, though we didn’t actually have any problems. Check-in was fully self-service using a coded electronic lock. We didn’t manage to meet Alessandro in person because our schedules didn’t line up, so that’s another reason to come back. Casa Magaldi is top-notch, you couldn’t ask for more. 10+

The family running the place were incredibly kind and friendly, and the property itself was spacious and well looked after. I stayed here with a friend while we were walking around Basilicata, and we both had a wonderful time. We’d recommend it to anyone, absolutely.

Such a lovely little find. The hostess gave us a generous breakfast and we had everything we needed. It’s in a quiet area, only a short walk from the center. Highly recommended.
