The staff were patient, kind, and professional, and we had a really lovely lunch. We chose the tasting menu with wine pairings, and both the food and wines were so good they’re hard to put into words. Each dish was thoughtfully put together, delicious, and rooted in local tradition with a modern touch. Definitely worth making the trip.

The rooms are spacious and really comfortable, and breakfast is served inside the restaurant. We had dinner outside in the lovely garden, beneath old trees and little lights, with plenty of different wines to choose from. It’s an idyllic, authentic spot. If you’re driving to the sea or heading home, staying a night makes a great start or end to a holiday. :-)

I was on my own, so I chose wine by the glass, and the selection was a real pleasure. The staff made an effort to get my meal just right. Even though I’d just heard that a very good friend had passed away before I arrived, this was one of the best dinners I can remember from my travels through Friuli. The portions were just right, and everything tasted incredibly fresh, imaginatively prepared, and perfectly seasoned. I hope to come back one day in better spirits.

Marco and his team made me feel at ease and gave me a great introduction to the food and wine of Friaul. The setting is ideal for reaching places of interest within 30-40km, including the Slovenian side. My first visit to the Collio was right on the spot. The dishes are excellent, with a creative, modern touch, and the service is friendly and relaxed. A beautiful Osteria beside the vineyard of Fellugia. Worth a visit if you're nearby.
