Best Western Plus Hotel Le Favaglie

The last day was the worst part. While I was away, they put my mother and little sister out of the room, saying our dogs had peed on a bed, and wouldn't let them back in until we paid an extra 200€ in cleaning fees. The staff were okay apart from the manager, who was unpleasant. The cleaning ladies came across as arrogant, and the way they acted in the hallways felt unwelcoming. The shower was dirty from the start, and the bed was so hard I couldn't sleep properly. The gym was unusable: its very outdated treadmills would stop at random, which felt dangerous if you were running. The equipment seemed to be there for show. The sauna stayed cold and barely worked. I didn't try the pool, and breakfast was outrageously overpriced. An absolutely terrible, nightmare of a stay. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

The family room was spacious, the staff were very friendly, and the pool water was warm. Over the Easter holidays, though, there weren't enough staff, the restaurant wasn't open for lunch or dinner, and the bar didn't open until 5 pm. None of that was mentioned when we booked.

On Monday night, 9th December, the night before checkout, the reception staff locked us out of our rooms and asked for cash. It's a good hotel, but watch out for reception asking for cash for companions, even though the amounts had already been agreed with hotel management. If you pay cash, does it actually go to the hotel, and does management know about it? Don't deal in cash with reception staff.

The rooms were comfortable and quiet, with good beds and pillows. There was a minibar and complimentary coffee or tea in the room, and the swimming pool was nice. Breakfast was good too. If you like your coffee strong and good, Italian style, ask the staff to make it for you. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make the stay comfortable. I'd happily stay again!
