Ambra Cortina Luxury & Fashion Boutique Hotel

The location is hard to beat, just about a minute’s walk from the center, and the rooms were sparkling clean. Alesia, Anniesa, Matilda and Ibrahim were especially sweet and thoughtful, taking care of all the little details. I loved my stay and would choose this place again if I’m back in Cortina.

The staff were lovely, even bringing umbrellas while we unloaded the car in the rain. Breakfast covered the basics, and they could make cappuccinos and omelettes. Just know the kitchen staff speak only Italian, so you need to order your omelette in Italian. The room was small, though clean and practical. From the hotel it’s an easy walk to a pretty piazza with shops, restaurants and great views.

The rooms were stylish and comfortable, with nice extras like fruit and chocolates, and the hotel’s design details and artwork were a pleasure. We paid a little more, but the friendly service and location made it worthwhile: Faloria gondola and the shuttle bus to the other lifts are within walking distance. Construction around Cortina for the Winter Olympics didn’t spoil our visit. Thanks to the Ambra team for such a lovely stay. 🙂

I’d been put off by the Google reviews, so I’m glad someone persuaded me to stay. The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants an easy walk away, and breakfast was five-star, right down to the very cute young woman serving us. I travel with a white noise machine, so I don’t hear much of the commotion. Olympic construction is a pain, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. I recommend it.
