Hotel Regina

The breakfast was nicely organized, and they’ll make fresh coffee when you ask. Housekeeping was especially thorough, with care taken over every detail. The place felt clean even by the standards of higher-rated hotels. Hotel Regina is family-run and welcoming, right by the city center and within walking distance of the skilift. A warm, flexible place to stay.

The hotel really came through for me when I was traveling alone. I got very sick with food poisoning from a Refugio I’d stayed at, and had to give up my last hiking day. They let me check in early so I could lie down and recover. I can’t say enough about how accommodating they were; being on my own made that help mean a lot. I’d give them 10/10. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the location was perfect, and breakfast was very good. I stayed here on my first and last nights through my group tour.

The hotel’s central location is what you’re paying for, more than the amenities. It’s at the end of the main shopping street, with a view of the Dolomites from the window. The rooms are a little small but clean and perfectly acceptable. Breakfast was tasty, with proper coffee, though the room only had instant. There’s a private parking lot behind the hotel, handy for leaving the car overnight. Finding it took some effort: after looping around the one-way system twice, we went to the left of the hotel and around back. My wife went in to say we were waiting, and they opened the barrier. Without a space there, I’m not sure where we would have parked. There was construction right in front, as much of Cortina was getting ready for the winter Olympics in Jan 2025. It wasn’t pleasant, though I guess the hotel couldn’t do much about it. There’s no AC, so the room was a little warm at night even with the window open.

The staff were the best part of our stay. We had a booking problem, and they helped arrange transport. When that trip was cancelled, they found us something else to do, which turned into an amazing day. They also suggested some great restaurants. We stayed one night before a four-day hike, left our luggage there, then came back for two more nights. The rooms were lovely and clean, and breakfast was great. A really lovely stay.
