Hotel Tofana Cortina

Hotel Tofana is ideally placed for walking straight to the slopes, and having ski storage and rentals available at the hotel made things easy. The beautiful spa was a lovely place to unwind after skiing. The hotel itself is stunning and very well maintained, and the team were warm, attentive and dedicated to making our stay special. A flawless mix of comfort, luxury and excellent service.

We stayed in September and had a wonderful trip. The rooms were small, but very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The spa was perfect. After an early hike one day, we came back and relaxed in the pool. Breakfast was out of this world, and we ate at the hotel nearly every night because there was a different tasting menu each evening. Our travel was delayed by a night, and they didn't refund that night's stay. They did offer to change the dates, but we couldn't rearrange our plans. I was disappointed, though I understood, especially since we arrived early the next morning. It was still a great choice for our trip, and I'd recommend it.

We had a great family stay at Hotel Tofana. The staff were helpful and welcoming everywhere we went, and the hotel is quiet, with stunning views. We could see the Cinque Torri from our window. It's outside Cortina, with a shuttle to and from town, which is useful when the town gets busy in summer. The bus stop is right under the hotel, and it's a 20-minute ride to the hiking trailheads. The rooms were modern and clean, the heated pool was great, and the food was very high quality. I highly recommend Tofana.

The staff were friendly and smiling, and our beds were large and comfortable. There were plenty of outlets, fairly large TVs and a big parking area. The cozy rooms have lovely Dolomites views, lots of wood and daily cleaning. We even got a free upgrade on arrival, which was a nice gesture. The spa has a range of facilities and sauna sessions. Dinner was a pleasant surprise: the dishes we ordered were fresh and very good, much better than we expected after breakfast. Breakfast itself was average and repetitive, with a limited choice. That's the area most in need of improvement, and there seems to be room to expand the options. The air conditioning confused me. I first thought the controller was broken, but reception said it was meant to work that way and we should open the windows if the room was too warm. Maybe that's a healthy suggestion, but in a 5-star hotel, I expect to be able to set the temperature myself. My wife and I were both surprised. The hotel is also right by a very busy road, and beautiful Cortina is extremely crowded. Even with those drawbacks, I think the hotel is worth recommending. Better breakfasts would make it even better.
