The room was tiny and laid out strangely, with no table or safe. It seemed to have been quickly converted from a former apartment, and getting to it involved a complicated set of stairs. We also couldn’t get extra pool towels. Instead, we were offered towels for an outrageous 25€. We got unclear directions before arriving, with no warning about possible fines for driving in certain areas. I only learned about that at check-in, and ended up having an encounter with the police. Don’t count on Google Maps to guide you here. Breakfast was very limited. My friend and I were the only guests in the small breakfast room, but the hostess didn’t give us any privacy and refused to leave when we asked. Vegan choices were available if requested, but they were poorly thought out and unappetizing. The staff’s unfriendly, unprofessional, inflexible attitude at checkout made an already disappointing stay even worse. I’d strongly advise against this hotel.

This hotel was disappointing, and I can’t recommend it. The room felt cramped and oddly arranged, with no table for our things or safe. We also needed an extra set of pool towels, but the hotel only offered to sell them for an exorbitant 25€. Casa Ambra is just a few steps from Cortona’s main square, and the view of it from the window is spectacular. We stayed four days for a short getaway. The apartment was clean and well looked after, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We’d be happy to return.

A charming, well-kept place right in the center. The room was small but comfortable, with AC and a spacious, clean bathroom. And it had a REAL hairdryer! The owners are super friendly and available 24/7.
