Domus Poggio Sant'Angelo

The food was okay, but it cost too much.

The fireplace scent made the whole place feel warm and welcoming, and the carefully kept Casale and surrounding greenery were beautiful. We stayed at Poggio over Easter weekend 2015 using a Groupon coupon and were delighted. The large garden seemed great for children and relaxing adults alike, with a pool to enjoy in summer. Our Zafferano room had its own entrance and was very spacious, with clever use of the space. It had antique furnishings and a comfortable en suite bathroom, with an excellent shower, reliably hot water, and very soft bathrobes. The double bed deserves special praise: it was the most comfortable we've ever slept in. We had two wonderful nights of deep rest and felt refreshed in body and soul. Breakfast was served downstairs, with warm croissants, bread, toast, Nutella, jam, and hot drinks made by the owners. Then we headed out to explore the lovely area. The coupon also covered dinner for two, with drinks extra. We ate in the restaurant beside a spectacular fireplace. Dinner included a stuffed artichoke to start, divine mixed grilled meats, roast potatoes that were unfortunately cold, and dessert. We had a good glass of red wine with it all. We'll definitely recommend Poggio to our friends!

The dinner and service were both excellent, and the charming atmosphere made my husband's 50th birthday feel special. I had such a great time that we'd jump at another chance to come back.

The staff were impeccable, and the location is exceptional.
