Hotel Italia

We really enjoyed our week here and would come back. The bar and restaurant staff were attentive and kind, and we liked the spa and other amenities. Our rooms were comfortable, warm and cosy, with a lovely view. We kept a window slightly open to cool things down, which was actually quite pleasant. The main snag was finding out how things worked. We arrived as six people in three rooms with ski gear, but the kind person who checked us in didn’t explain where the gear room was, how to come and go with our equipment, or the easiest way to reach the lifts. We only discovered the heated boot room on checkout day, and it was great once we found it. Breakfast was included and decent, though finished items such as the apple strudel weren’t replenished. More fresh fruit and freshly made sweets would have been welcome in place of the commercial ones. There’s room for improvement, but we had a good stay.

After skiing, it was lovely to come back to a clean room every day, with no hair left on the floor. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I liked the roomy bathroom. The spa was another highlight, especially being above ground with a pool that looks outside. It’s easy to walk to restaurants and the ski routes or lifts. One ski run brings you down by the parking area, then it’s just a minute on foot to the hotel. When we checked out, they kindly kept our luggage at reception and let us use the spa to shower after skiing. I really appreciated that.

The wellness area was more than enough for me, and the food was okay. We spent four nights at this lovely family run place. The staff were very friendly, and the main ski lifts are about an eight-minute walk away.

The pool is large and clean, and the spa has plenty of saunas and room to relax. Dinner was excellent and plentiful, while breakfast had the right sort of food. The rooms were spacious, nice and very clean, and everyone was friendly. You’re right in central Corvara, close to the main slopes and ski school. Maybe it’s just me, but a few vegetables at breakfast would make it even better. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
