The janitor was quick and helpful whenever something needed repairing. The pool was okay, though there were no umbrellas, and the house was only basically equipped, with plastic chairs and a table. Despite the description, there was no WLAN in the house. Reception was somewhat helpful but seemed unmotivated: when I asked them to arrange an airport transfer and the local taxi company didn't answer, they said they couldn't help further and left me to sort it out myself. For what you get, it wasn't good value.

We got lucky with a few quiet neighbors. The apartment was genuinely spacious and the location spectacular. Amenities are limited, no microwave or toaster, for instance, but the views make up for it.

We were five adults and a child, and the sofa opened into a bed, so there was enough room for all of us for a week. The villa is spacious, with two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining room, and a kitchen. It's in a very quiet part of the Costa Paradiso residential area, and four villas share a large pool. It could use some attention: faulty electrical outlets, doors that don't close properly, missing kitchen utensils, and a shower and bathtub that need adjusting. Still, it was perfectly adequate for our stay.

The view is spectacular, but watch out for wild boars in the garden if you're eating outside. The house is very basic: sheets cost extra, and there are no kitchen toiletries. All they provide is a roll of toilet paper and a small bottle of shower gel. There's no fan or air conditioning either.

The villa was well equipped for a lovely week away. The holiday home complex is in a stunning spot with direct views of the sea.
