Hotel Crampon

Lorenzia, the owner, was an absolute gem and made our visit more memorable. The service was outstanding from start to finish at this quaint, beautiful Hotel Crampon, which is in an excellent location. Breakfast was a lovely buffet with everything you need to start the day. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The rooms were small and poorly maintained, and the breakfast was extremely disappointing. There were no panini or vegetables, only four slices of cheese, and the selection felt cheap. They put out just a tiny two-egg omelet at a time, so guests were left waiting. The service was poor. The hotel is run by Lorenza and Alicia, whom I found arrogant. When we came back from skiing, the owner accused us of damaging a door. It was a tiny crack, about the size of a pen. We estimated that repairing it would cost around €10-20, especially against the €2,200 total cost of our stay. The owner insisted we pay, raised her voice, and acted aggressively. We asked her to check the security cameras, but she called the police instead. The police eventually arrived and left right away without taking any action, obviously. Under pressure, we were made to leave the hotel at 7 PM and find somewhere else to stay. We've filed a complaint with Booking.com and are waiting for their response.

We unwound in the sunlit garden with a drink after a long walk, and the excellent breakfast set us up for our next day's walk. Our spacious room had a balcony and a fabulous mountain view. The peaks tower all around the town, and the scenery is magnificent. Everything was pristine, including the boot room, where we could borrow indoor slippers. The welcome was lovely, and this beautiful hotel has a traditional Italian feel. We loved our one-night visit and would like to come back in winter to ski. Grazie.

It felt like home here, with very clean rooms, great service, and an excellent breakfast. Parking was available, and there was a transfer to the cable car and back. The location is just a step from the city centre's restaurants and bars, but away from the crowds, so it stayed quiet at night. There's nearby construction, though it didn't bother us since we didn't need the room during the day, roughly 9 to 16. If you need to use your room then, perhaps for a baby's nap, keep that in mind. We'd recommend this cozy hotel.
