Grand Hotel Courmayeur Montblanc by R Collection Hotels

This was our second stay, and the service was excellent from every staff member, especially the dinner and breakfast servers. The hotel looks stunning and sits in a lovely, quiet setting. Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed. I’d say it’s one of the best hotels in Europe.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were brilliant, and the bar was nice with a decent restaurant. Thanks to Luca for helping us sort out our skis and the spa.

I stayed here last year. It’s quiet, with great food, a spa and nice people. A good choice if you like peace and want to head out to nearby attractions.

The main issue for me was how access to the solarium and gym is handled. Both are controlled through the spa, which is small and understandably has to limit guest numbers. So even if you only want to sunbathe or work out, you have to go through the spa booking process and sign a liability waiver. If you come back in the afternoon hoping to relax in the sun, you may not be able to unless you booked the spa and can get a time slot. The policy also allows just one spa visit a day, so sunbathing and then using the spa at a pre-booked time counts as two entries and isn’t allowed. That feels like an unnecessary restriction on guests’ freedom and flexibility. The girl at the wellness center didn’t even understand the problem and needs a lot more training. Simpler, separate access rules for the solarium and gym would make the experience flawless. That said, I left with a wonderful memory and will definitely return. This is a brand-new, beautifully designed property in a great spot for enjoying Courmayeur, with the comforts expected of a luxury hotel. The atmosphere is elegant and relaxing, and the staff are courteous and professional. Having stayed at many five-star hotels around the world, I hope management will consider my suggestion.
