B B Country House Crema

The owners were friendly and easy to reach on WhatsApp, and we heard that the upstairs rooms might be better. Still, for €45 per person per night, we gave it two stars. It may be okay if all you need is somewhere to sleep while spending the rest of your time elsewhere, but I wouldn't recommend it to families. We were two adults and two children, staying three nights in June. The apartment had two rooms, a bathroom, and a kitchenette on the ground floor. There was a fridge and microwave, but no way to cook. It smelled musty and had a number of problems: a small hole in the ceiling, a missing closet shelf, an open section of kitchen wall with a dark storage space behind it, screws sticking out in the bathroom, lights that kept switching on and off, and shower water that started running at random. The walls were thin. We could hear people outside, and when the upstairs neighbor's air conditioner was on, its noise and vibration came straight through the bedroom wall, making sleep impossible. Most doors and windows had no insect screens, so we couldn't leave them open for fresh air. The location is just outside Crema. You need a car or bikes because it's too far to walk, and there's no bus connection. The road is very close and loud, and we heard it all night through the thin walls. Two ruined buildings next to the B&B made the area feel rather spooky. There was no outdoor space for the kids except a parking lot in full sun. The garden and pool were behind a high wall and apparently only available to guests who booked them in advance for an extra charge. Our apartment's little front garden wasn't useful either: it had long grass, full sun, a thick two-metre hedge, and lots of mosquitoes in the evening. Breakfast had a variety of long-lasting items, but no fresh rolls or pastries, ham, or salami. The fruit looked wrinkled and the cornflakes were chewy.
