Hotel La Perla

We spent a night in this lovely town and found the hotel friendly, clean, and well equipped.

It's dated, but clean, and the price is excellent for what you get.

In winter, I got to eat and stay at the Perla Hotel. The view was amazing, and the setting felt romantic. The food, service, and rooms were all excellent.

The room was a little noisy, but given the hotel's age it didn't bother me too much. It's right by the railway, with high-speed trains running during our stay, though the disturbance wasn't excessive. The room wasn't especially big, but it was comfortable enough to live in, and the TV and air conditioning worked well. Some parts of the hotel have been renovated; other areas are overdue for a thorough facelift. As the receptionist lady put it, time seems to have stood still here. The owner let us use a fridge for our own food and water, and a freezer too if we needed one. Breakfast and dinner were at the MADU chalet across the road. The staff there weren't merely friendly, they were perhaps the warmest and most welcoming people I've ever met on holiday. One thing could be explained more clearly: the quoted €15 lunch price isn't the actual price, it's a 15% discount on the total lunch bill. Since the restaurant isn't cheap, that makes a real difference. There's no parking nearby. If you're lucky you might find a space on the street, but keep an eye out for the police.
