We stayed for a week and chose bed and breakfast because this was the only hotel where we could find a room. We knew it was a two-star place, so that's the standard I'm judging it by. The owner and the staff we dealt with were very kind and helpful. The room was roomy and airy, with a big terrace facing the sea and another large window to the north. Its furnishings were in very good condition and fine for a two-star hotel. There were no bedside lights, though. Maybe there used to be wall lamps above the headboard, but only holes are left now. There are just two proper outlets in the room, one over the headboard and one outside the bathroom, plus an odd multi-outlet device by the TV. The mattresses could be improved, and I'd strongly suggest getting rid of the bedspread. There's convenient private parking, and breakfast is served on a covered veranda. Breakfast is basic and all sweet, with nothing savory. The location near the railway means you'll hear trains if you want to stay close to the sea, as in most of these towns along the Abruzzo coast. The bathroom was the unacceptable part. The toilet seat was cracked, stained with things I couldn't identify, and unhygienic; the toilet itself was encrusted, and the flush panel was coming away from the wall. The shower head sent water everywhere except onto the person trying to wash. The curtain was unsightly, and the sink leaked. It needs basic maintenance and, above all, proper attention to hygiene. Without the bathroom condition, I would definitely have rated the hotel higher.

For families with children, this place is definitely worth a try, and full board is available too. The private beach is nearby, and parking is very convenient. Breakfast is simple but pleasant, with fresh croissants and different pastries each day. The room is spacious and always spotless. It's a two-star hotel, so don't expect luxury, but there's plenty of cleanliness and order for the price.

Mr. Alberto deserves a special mention for always being ready to help with whatever we needed. The hotel is basic and dated, as you'd expect for two stars, but it's clean, has the essentials, and is reasonably priced. Bring your own hairdryer, since there isn't one. Its location is strategic, and the private parking is a real plus. The passing train bothered us a little, though other guests seemed used to it. Mr. Alberto offered to move us to a quieter room, and the rest of the holiday went smoothly. The food was excellent, with a set menu, but they can make changes if you ask ahead. Breakfast was good too. We liked being able to choose each morning between B&B and half board, since some days we went to the beach and others we explored nearby. Half board also included an umbrella and two loungers on the hotel's private beach, about 100 metres away. Very handy. For me, it's a complete pass. Well done, Mr. Alberto.

The hotel is close to the sea and has a calm, relaxing feel. Alberto, the owner, was so kind and helpful, always willing to meet our needs. The food was excellent and the portions generous. We had a satisfying stay, and I'd highly recommend a holiday at Hotel Marano.

The room was advertised as an "emergency" room when I booked, and I was told it had just one window and no terrace. I paid €50 a night, discounted, for a week with room only. They do welcome dogs, which was a positive. The room itself had no air conditioning and was unbearably hot, with no second window to make a draft, and the building's position didn't help. The bathroom was dirty and still had traces from previous guests. I even found used soap. The shower head was so clogged that water sprayed all over the place. The towels smelled bad, including after they were replaced every few days. Daily cleaning was basically absent: they just straightened the sheets, folded the bathmat, and topped up the toilet paper. There was no hairdryer either.
