I couldn't wait to leave. Over three days I never saw a single person, and the room stayed dirty and unmade the whole time. There were cobwebs everywhere, torn sheets, rusty faucets, and ceiling lights coated with dead insects. Two bulbs wouldn't even work in daylight, so I used my phone flashlight to get to the bathroom. The stench got into all my clothes, leaving me unable to wear them during those three days. Outside, a few signs were broken, next to a miserable “Happy Holidays! Never Again” sign. It felt like a nightmare in an abandoned place.

The pool, set among the greenery, is beautiful, and the location is peaceful. You can park in front of the house, and the apartments have kitchens with all the equipment you need. There may be a few small maintenance jobs to take care of, but nothing major. Ro at reception is very helpful and happy to answer questions. There are donkeys to visit, too. It's pet friendly, and a lovely choice if you want to be surrounded by nature. Maggiore and Lugano are within reach, as are Switzerland, Luino, and the Lidi.

The night before I was due to arrive, my booking was cancelled with no explanation, even though I'd reserved four weeks ahead. The only option offered was an “alternative” at twice the price, with no believable reason for the cancellation. I had to scramble to find somewhere else, which was stressful. This was a bad joke, not a solution. If you need predictable plans, reliability, and professional service, avoid booking here.

A quiet spot to get away from the city and rest for a while. Mrs. Roxana is very friendly and manages a beautiful place. Compliments!
