Hotel Garni Edy

Waking up to that fabulous view was a real highlight. We loved the place. We were there for a week to hike in Dolomites, so we spent most of our time out of the hotel, but it was a lovely base. The rooms were cosy and clean, the staff welcoming, and breakfast had everything we needed. Parking was free, with a gas station nearby, and the city center was just a 5-minute drive. There was also a local bar with good prices and a restaurant nearby with a good selection and very good rates.

The scenery is beautiful, and the hotel is a good stop if you have a car. If you're relying on public transport, you may want to reconsider. There's another hotel with the same name, so be careful not to mix them up. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were good too. Our room was clean. I wouldn't count on getting much use out of the sauna and whirlpool for a one-night stay, though. They always seemed busy, and we weren't given a clear time when they'd be free.

The breakfast was the standout, with lots of options and freshly baked pastries. The hotel also has a restaurant, though I think it only opens in high season. We found the setting calm and the location ideal, with some great restaurants about a 5-minute drive away. Parking is right in front, and the view is magnificent. Our room was spacious and soundproofed, with a comfortable bed, a large shower, and a huge balcony for relaxing. I don't really understand the relatively low May 25 rating of 4.3, because the hotel exceeded my expectations.

The area is beautiful, and although the hotel is right by the road at a U-turn, the car noise somehow didn't bother us. Inside, we could hear people talking in adjoining rooms late at night. Check-in closes at 9 PM, and one of our bedrooms had no nightstands. The showers were much too small, even for people weighing 90-175Lbs, and water leaked onto the bathroom floor. Breakfast fruit was wilted and old, with some rotten pieces.
