The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and Mr. Giuseppe was very friendly. Breakfast was good, with milk, coffee, toast, jam, and pastries. Thank you, Giuseppe, for your hospitality.

The mountain views from inside the sparkling-clean rooms were breathtaking, and the setting was so peaceful. The staff were kind, friendly, and attentive. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice of local Italian products. If you're after those mountain views, this place is well worth a visit. I'll definitely come back.

The owner was so lovely and kind, and even shared some wine with us. Danta di Cadore makes a great base for hikes. We visited Tre Cime, Lago Misurina, Padola, and Aurora. From Padola you can take the cable car up into the mountains for hikes with amazing views. The church on top of the mountain where Danta sits also has beautiful panoramic views over the area. I wouldn't recommend the two small lakes nearby, lago di castella y lago di santa anna. The hike follows a big road and isn't very nice, and swimming isn't allowed in the lakes. I'd suggest spending several days here, there's so much to see and do. You could easily stay a week and still have hikes and other things left to explore. A useful thing to have is Tabacco map nr 017.
