Casa Celeste

After spending days looking through Rome’s accommodation options during a busy October, I found Casa Celeste to be one of the best values for money. It’s not far from the metro, and the room facilities, quiet surroundings, and balcony view all helped make for a good stay. The owner was friendly and easy to approach, both as a host and concierge, and made our stay enjoyable. My mother and I were very pleased. I’d recommend it to budget and mid-range travellers visiting 'la citta eterna'. Grazie Celeste! Arrivederci!

This is a great budget stay in Rome. It’s outside the city centre, right by the Rebibbia stop on the B Metro line, which was convenient and meant we could avoid the crowds. The metro ride into the city takes about 20-30 minutes and costs 1.5 euros. There’s a supermarket right outside, and the area has cheap, authentic Italian food. The service was the best part. She was so nice, and the room can be cleaned every day if you want, with fresh sheets and a clean bathroom. Our room had lots of space, a balcony, shower, TV, and fridge. The breakfast was great. A good option if you’re looking for a lower price than in the city.

We only stayed one night, but had a wonderful experience. The area was very quiet, and the accommodation was an easy walk from the metro. The hosts were warm and kind, and the place was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Avoid Casa Celeste Rome and Booking.com. They took my money. A day before my stay, someone called to say the room was no longer available and I’d have to cancel. Their English was very poor. With no real choice at the last minute, I cancelled and booked another hotel, which cost significantly more because it was such short notice. Then, on the original checkout date for the stay that never happened, I was charged £300. I’d already paid for the replacement hotel with my card, so I couldn’t understand the charge. After several calls and weeks of back and forth with Booking.com, they couldn’t identify where it came from. I eventually worked out it was for the cancelled Casa Celeste booking. I had call records, confirmation of the cancellation, and several proof documents, but Booking.com still didn’t resolve it. Each time I called, they opened a “new case,” and I had to explain everything from scratch. I kept hearing that they couldn’t reach the property or that it wasn’t answering their emails. One Booking.com agent admitted they had no authority to issue a refund and told me to contact the property myself. If the property agreed to refund me, Booking.com would process it. Useless. Getting in touch with Casa Celeste was a nightmare. When calls were answered, I got “No English, No Understand,” and my emails were never answered. My advice is to avoid Casa Celeste Rome. If you care about customer service and peace of mind, think twice before using Booking.com. When something goes wrong, you’re on your own. After a year of trying to get a refund, I’ve given up hope of ever seeing my £300 again. I’ll never get back the time I wasted, either.
