L'Antico Forziere Hotel & SPA

I've been to L’Antico Forziere several times, with small groups for both lunch and dinner, and we'd gladly return. The meals and wine were wonderful, and the staff and management were excellent. They also made a terrific outdoor space for wine and Hors d’Oeuvres. The restaurant is family owned and set in a beautifully restored building with a wonderful countryside view. Thank you, Samuele, for everything you and your staff did to make those meals memorable.

The large dessert plate was amazing, and the menu is very good, though a few dishes disappointed me. I didn't like the "Tagliatella croccante," so I'd skip it. The restaurant has an elegant, classic feel, tucked away over a small hill. Service was very slow despite the place not being crowded, so avoid it if you're after a quick lunch.

I Rodella, the restaurant at L’Antico Forziere hotel, is named in honor of the twin chefs in the kitchen. It's a real find, with terrific food, a warm welcome, and an elegant dining room. Traditional dishes get creative touches that bring out their flavors, rather than being changed just for show, and everything is beautifully presented. The cooking feels like Michelin star level without any pretension. It's under 10 minutes from Deruta, and I think it's one of the best restaurants in Umbria.

The setting is lovely: a rustic Umbrian house on a hill in the countryside, with an even better terrace outside. Inside, the restaurant feels cozy, the tables are spotless, and the place is clean. The staff are so kind and helpful. We stayed at the equally excellent hotel and ate here several times. Every visit was a delight. The food and service were both excellent, with a varied menu and some unusual choices, including quail, tomato based dishes, a cheese platter, pigeon ravoli, and angus. Starters, first and second courses, and desserts were all beautifully presented and delicious. The crème brûlée was my favorite, decorated with pieces of sugar sculpture. I've never had anything quite like it. We can't recommend L'Antico Forziere enough and hope to return soon!
