The apartment’s one real plus is its location. There’s a lift, but the stairwell is cluttered with furniture, and there’s more on the landing with a nasty musty smell. Inside, it was clean and there’s enough drawer space for a month, though the layout is awkward and it’s all beige and brown. The air conditioning looks like it dates from around 1980, the bed is so low you practically have to limbo to get in, and the lighting is poor. Two lamps are missing, left broken in the hallway. There are no safety features, including no smoke detector, even though the apartment is four floors up. Noise is bad in the evening: the bar downstairs seems more like a club, and they shout and dump glass bottles at 3 a.m. I wouldn’t stay here for a relaxing holiday. There are much nicer hotels farther into the residential areas.
