The location and service were good, but I wouldn’t recommend staying more than 1-2 nights. The room had no A/C, making the summer heat barely bearable. One shower door wouldn’t close, the window handle was coming loose, and the hotel card switch was in pieces held together with small bits of tape. That didn’t feel safe.

I booked through Bookings, but the hotel said a water pipe was broken and they couldn’t give me the room. They told me Bookings would refund me, but nothing has happened since. Neither Bookings nor the hotel has returned my money, and they just point fingers at each other. The hotel claims I stayed there that evening, which is a lie. Not recommended at all. Stay away from this thief company!

I was disappointed to find that room service was missed completely on my last night. There were bugs in the room, which made me seriously question the cleanliness and hygiene, and even the fridge wasn’t working. Some reception staff also seemed unhelpful and unwelcoming, which affected the experience. I hope management takes these problems seriously and improves service and room maintenance, and uses e-cards instead of keys.

We stayed for 12 days. We’ll come back to this area, but never to this hotel. The room cleaning also came with a privacy problem: staff entered without knocking while we were completely naked. We were later told the room wouldn’t be cleaned unless we handed over our only key. Yet they had managed to clean it on our first day while we were out in the city with the key. When I asked how that was possible if they needed our key to enter, the receptionist said it was a mistake, then said we had to leave it because that was the law in Italy. They’d also entered while we were in the room. Breakfast was frustrating. There were only a few pieces of dry bread, yogurt and croissants in plastic bags, and the breakfast lady rushed us despite 45 minutes remaining before closing. The buffet was almost empty, and even at 8:30 in the morning they refused to put out more food. When we raised the issue, they said they wanted to offer more, like eggs, and offered us four each morning for the rest of our stay. At checkout, we were suddenly charged 30 euros for the eggs without being told there’d be a cost. They then claimed eggs weren’t part of breakfast. On the second day, we were told the selection was small because the hotel didn’t actually have a license to serve breakfast. They said if the police came, they’d have to shut it down, and we might simply get no breakfast despite having paid for it. We felt misled, disrespected and uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the money.
