Hotel Riviera

The roof terrace is a lovely place to take in Lake Garda, and the hotel sits conveniently near the beach and at the edge of the town centre. Our quiet budget twin room was very clean, with a firm mattress I liked and a good shower. We started with thin blankets, but I asked for quilts and got them the next day. I prefer quilts even in summer. The receptionists and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, really five-star service. Breakfast was another story. The woman serving it seemed stroppy and couldn’t keep the trays filled. When I pointed out that there had been no scrambled eggs for the second day in a row, she glared at me for the rest of our stay. We still got enough to eat and the coffee was excellent, but we’d give the included breakfast only two stars.

I was traveling alone for the first time and felt safe and comfortable here. The front office staff were amazing, and breakfast was nice. The coffee was the best I’ve ever had. It’s a great base in Desenzano for visiting Lake Garda.

We stayed in a basic room in the annexe, and it was perfectly fine. It was clean, and the shower had great pressure. The staff were lovely and helpful, and nothing seemed like a problem. Breakfast was amazing, with everything you could want. We also liked the view of Lake Garda just 20m across the road. The roof terrace was nice, and the bar was very reasonably priced. Thanks for looking after us.

Breakfast was really good, and the hotel is close to the centre, beach, and harbour. We were happy with the stay overall and would recommend it for a visit to Desenzano del Garda. I think we got an older room, with questionable decor, hard beds and pillows, and a very thin door to the corridor. We could hear a lot of noise from outside our room.
