Villaggio Mare Blu

The campsite was in good shape, though I’d tweak a few of the rules. We stayed in a tent, and overall it worked out well. The large pool was well maintained, the restaurant prices were reasonable, and there was always engaging entertainment available. Getting to the sea was fairly easy, and the sea itself is something special. We also really enjoyed the Occhio Marino excursion near the island of Cirella. A great base for seeing Diamante, probably one of the coast’s prettiest villages.

The staff were the one good part, but I’ve just left the resort feeling disappointed. For the price, I expected more. The bungalows were in terrible shape, there were ants in the beds, the minimarket had very little stock, and there was no entertainment at all, though I don’t blame the kids for that. It was a bad experience, and we won’t come back.

We like staying in the villas here, which feel very welcoming, and we’re glad to return whenever we can. This wasn’t our first visit, just a long weekend this time. The sea was beautiful, and the beach service included in our package meant we could enjoy it throughout the stay. The weather turned poor on the last day, but that wasn’t the resort’s fault. The staff are very friendly. We’ll come back as soon as we can.

We first came here in 1989 and have been glad to return during the first weeks of July for several years now. The villas are comfortable and clean, with what you need. The exception is the shower, which I’d suggest using outside, where the showers are hot and clean. Everyone is friendly, from reception to maintenance. This year the entertainment team, Asia Manuele and Roberta Luigi, kept things engaging, and the young staff were very polite. Alessandro, the lifeguard, is always around and attentive. Michele and Giuseppe at the bar and pizzeria are consistently kind and friendly. We’ll happily return next year. Best wishes, the owner.
