The surroundings are lovely, but our stay had some real downsides. The owner was unfriendly, and dogs on the street barked through the night. The pool is only 120 cm deep, and the cottage has neither air conditioning nor mosquito nets.

We spent our time in a quiet spot among the olive groves, with all the usual countryside sounds around us: cicadas, birds, dogs, horses, and cats. Bring mosquito repellent. The owner was friendly but discreet, and the separate accommodations gave us privacy. There was good airflow, which you could adjust, so it stayed comfortable even in hot weather, and the well-kept pool was a welcome place to cool off. Nearby markets are well stocked, and locally made olive oil is available, along with wine, I think. It also makes a handy base for the mountains, the coast, Savona, or Monaco, or for just staying put and relaxing.

The hosts were very friendly, and there’s a well-stocked Basko supermarket nearby. We enjoyed the walking and hiking trails, and Diano Castello and Diano Marina are only a short distance away. The apartment was well maintained and quiet, with a lovely pool and olive groves all around.

I had a great time in these lovely holiday apartments. The house red wine and olive oil were fantastic.
