The food and wine were excellent. We had an amazing Barolo, and the professional staff were a big help in choosing wines. The menu features typical Piemonte and Langhe recipes and flavours, all enjoyed with a stunning view through a big glass window over hills covered in vineyards. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

We spent three nights in early March at Agriturismo Il Cortile, in the Cascinotto suite facing the vineyards and Piedmont's rolling hills, with snow covered alps in the distance. That view alone made the stay worthwhile. We were greeted at check-in by a very nice, helpful young woman at the front desk, possibly Martina, though I'm sorry I can't remember her name. The suite was cozy, immaculate, and new, with enough room for two or even three. It had everything we needed for a longer visit, including a small fridge and a kitchenette with dishes, a sink, stovetop, and microwave. We paid the extra breakfast fee, which meant the kitchen was stocked with salumi, cheese, pastries, sweets, and more. It came in handy for a quick bite in the morning when we were heading out, or a snack before dinner. The bathroom was spacious and clean, with plenty of room for toiletries, and there was a washing machine too. A detailed information book covered room instructions, nearby wineries and places to eat, and day trip ideas. If you're driving, Barolo, Alba, and the surrounding villages are all within 15-30 minutes for tastings, sightseeing, or dinner. We ate at several great spots for local Piedmontese food, but the restaurant attached to the agriturismo was incredible too. We were the only diners on our first night and chose the traditional tasting menu, though you can also order from the menu. The food presentation was top notch, as was the wine recommended by the cameriere/sommelier. Depending on the time of day or night, there's a scenic panoramic view of the hills while you eat. It's a dining experience that makes you pause and appreciate the art of regional cooking. If you're staying several nights, I'd highly recommend booking dinner there at least once. One of the owners, Graziella, was outside pruning early spring blooms from the property's trees with the dogs who live there. She saw me on the balcony and spoke with me in Italian. We had a brief, lovely conversation in my very rudimentary Italian about the dogs, the views, our room, and where we were from. Later she knocked on our door and gave us a vase with flowering branches from the vineyard trees. Graziella, her family, and the staff were all warm and welcoming. You can see their care in the grounds and rooms and in how they treat guests. I have nothing negative to say about our stay. It's a great place to get away from the city bustle, especially if you're here for wine tastings, and take a little time to relax.

Check-in was easy, and communication with the host was welcoming. The nicely renovated mini apartment was cozy and well equipped, with comfortable furniture and a balcony overlooking beautiful vineyards.

I love the people who make this place so special. The location is fabulous, the views are spectacular, and it's one of my favorite places in the world!

Martina is a very nice host and always available if you need help. The recently renovated room has everything you need, including a small kitchen, and there's a restaurant in the same building. Lovely place with beautiful views over wineyards.
