I can only speak to the famous ice cream at the kiosk on the terrace: La Vera Granita Siciliana. It’s somewhere between sorbet and regular ice cream, and it’s so good. Stop by and try the Pistacchio and Mandorla.

The refurbishment was done to a good standard, the staff were very friendly, and the cleaning lady did an excellent job. Everything stayed spotless during our three-day visit, and breakfast was very good. But the air conditioning didn’t work. We found that out after coming back from the beach and trying to switch it on. When we asked, we were told it was out of service throughout the hotel and they were waiting for engineers. No engineer came while we were there, and it was never fixed. With temperatures at 32-34°C, we had to sleep with the windows open. There were no mosquito nets, and traffic noise from the main road began early in the morning, making it hard to sleep. It’s hard for me to believe a hotel can operate in that heat without working air conditioning. The most disappointing part was that nobody offered compensation, another solution, or even a gesture of goodwill.

We only stayed one night, and the hotel was in a convenient spot. The service stood out most: everyone on the team was kind, welcoming, and ready to help.
