The hotel is in a gorgeous spot among beautiful mountains, and we chose it because Rifugio Auronzo/Tre Cime were fairly accessible from there. It was quite isolated, but worked for our plans. The room itself was very basic, with just a small window and no view. We were glad to get bagged lunches the night before instead of the included breakfast, since we were leaving at 6am. I'm not sure we'd return.

You wake up to quiet and tranquility, with amazing mountain views, and the stars at night are magical. The hotel is surrounded by nature and absolutely beautiful. Rooms are nice and have all the essentials, and the staff are friendly and super helpful. I'd recommend it if you have a car!

The setting in a pretty forrest among huge mountains is the only real benefit here. We came with a big group, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel without your own car: it's far from the slopes, stores and villages. The food is really plain, though breakfast was better than dinner. The tiramisu and scrambled eggs with bacon were the best dishes. It gets freezing at night because the radiators are switched off at 11 pm. There are no kettles or glasses in the rooms, so bring your own mug and kettle if you want tea. In the four-person room, only two beds are regular ones, with two additional bunk beds. They won't even give you tap water with a meal, so you have to buy bottled water each time. The hotel bar closed earlier than the sign said, and the shower cabins leaked.

The room was uncomfortable and cold at night. Its bare walls, metal beds, wardrobe and radiator gave it a dated, unpleasant feel. Heating shut off at 11 p.m. and came back at 7 a.m., no matter the temperature. Some windows were poorly sealed, and electric heaters were needed. Several window and balcony handles were missing, and only one window could be opened. There were no curtains, either; outside lights shone in for half the night. I checked the wardrobe and windows myself, and other rooms had the same issue. We also found a rusty radiator leaking in the toilet. We were told a plumber would come the next day, but it took four days. We had to keep an eye on a cup beneath it so it wouldn't overflow. When we arrived, a bunk bed frame was already broken. We filmed it to show it hadn't been used and was damaged before our stay. The next day the owner mocked us, denied it had been broken beforehand and blamed us. Very rude and unprofessional. Food was just as disappointing. Breakfast was identical every day, despite what I had read in other reviews, and everything tasted bland. The ingredients may have been good, but the cooking made the meals nearly inedible. Dinner was no better. None of my friends or I could finish a meal. The menu changed daily, but the food didn't feel Italian at all. One schnitzel was so hard it could figuratively hammer in nails. The hotel is far from shops and other services, making even basic errands difficult. Drinks all cost extra, and we were told outside food in the rooms would bring a penalty, so guests had to buy everything on site. That's unacceptable. A 1.5-liter bottle of water cost €2. I strongly regret staying here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The setting is the strongest point: you're surrounded by forest, with a large seating area, and very close to the Drei Zinnen. It's handy if you're there for the major tourist sights. Inside, the hotel feels oddly furnished, huge but empty, with little thought given to decoration. The rooms are simple and a bit dated, though clean enough. There was some kind of leak, and the marks from it are still obvious. Apart from the bed, there's not much in the room. Breakfast was okay at best. The food quality was all right, but there wasn't much choice and no coffee machine. We've had much better breakfasts in the Dolomites. For the price, there are better places with nicer rooms and breakfast.
