Hotel Union needs to do better. The food staff were amazing, but the front desk staff were rude and unfriendly. If they're that miserable, they should get another job. The amenities were closed whenever we wanted to use them, apparently only open during business hours when groups are out hiking. They should be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. so guests on a once-in-a-lifetime vacation can actually use them. There wasn't even a small supply of coffee or tea in the room, and staff weren't around until 9 a.m. The radiators and towel warmer couldn't be switched on, so we couldn't dry our hiking clothes. Public showers had no soap, shampoo or conditioner. There was no hair conditioner in the bathrooms either, so we had to go out and buy some for my wife. More than half of travelers are women. The guest seems to be a nuisance here, while services are arranged for staff convenience.

The evening post was really useful, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We had a great vacation and enjoyed the hospitality. Dinner was delicious, made with fresh, local products.

The restaurant manager's care and attention to detail made our meals even better, and the pastry chef's creations were incredible, both in taste and presentation. Everyone at Hotel Union Dobbiaco treated us with warmth and real kindness, and went out of their way to make the stay special. The staff were professional and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and we felt at home. For comfort, service and food, Hotel Union Dobbiaco brought everything together beautifully. We can't wait to return.

Hotel Union made for a picture-perfect week in Dobbiaco, and I already want to go back. The staff were exceptionally kind, the restaurant food was wonderful, and breakfast was top notch. Make sure to try the pastries. The hotel bar's drinks were just right, too. It's in a beautiful area, close to both train and bus stops, so getting around the region was easy. I also had a very relaxing, much-needed massage.

I wasn't staying here, but wandered in by chance while looking for dinner near where I was lodging. Federico, the bartender, is easily the best mixologist I've ever been served by. Come by for a cocktail or two!
