Le Gemme is a real gem on the edge of town, with quality rooms and facilities. What stood out even more was how friendly, attentive, flexible, adaptable and generous our hosts Bettina and Mario were. Thank you, Bettina and Mario, for making our stay such an unforgettable experience. Jacqueline (France) and Minas (Canada). October 2024. Steep stairs are part of getting around this village, and Le Gemme is no exception. Be ready to climb them, and you can enjoy the feeling of staying in the village and living its atmosphere. It's worth it, and feels like paradise.

The hosts were lovely, breakfast was really good, especially the homemade jams and cake and the good coffee, and the location beside the beautiful medieval Bridge is ideal. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. After a day wandering through nearby villages, the bathtub was a lovely treat. For transparency, there were a few very minor things that some guests might find less charming, though none stopped us from having a wonderful stay. There are around 20 steps to reach the room, which is useful to know if you have limited mobility. Sound carries through the doors, so you need to be considerate of the neighbors and keep noise down. All three rooms were booked during our stay, but the house stayed calm the whole time. The shower's hot water came and went, and sometimes we had to wait a few minutes for it to return. At the very reasonable nightly price, none of that bothered us. This was one of our best stays, and we highly recommend this gem to other travelers!

Bettina and her husband have made this B&B feel like a fairytale in the beautiful streets of Dolceacqua. We felt so welcome. Bettina makes breakfasts you'll never forget, with her own baked pie and dolces... mmmmm :)

The owners clearly love what they do and seem to put every penny back into the place, adding more 19th century frills. It's beautiful, spacious and very well equipped. Bring light luggage, though, since there's no car access and lots of steps. That's the price of authenticity.
