Hotel Camping Europa

The lake is gorgeous, and it’s only a two-minute walk from the hotel. We had a spacious balcony with an amazing view, plus a big swimming pool, and the room had air conditioning, which matters to me. We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Don’t let the hotel’s two-star rating put you off, it’s really good.

We come here every year for sailing, and the staff are always friendly and ready to help. The campsite has water access and simple facilities, including very hot showers. The holiday chalets are basic but clean and well equipped, with green space behind them and traffic and parking at the front. That setup works well with small children. The hotel is simple too, with a very good breakfast and a small bar for aperitivo. There’s also a swimming pool and a playroom for little kids. La Ronde Restaurant next door is very good, and so is the café on the lakefront. Around the corner in old Domaso, Villa Camellia has a good playground in its grounds, and there are several other good restaurants nearby. If you’re into watersports, this is a great base for the northern part of Lake Como.

The village of Domaso has plenty to do for all ages, and supermarkets, restaurants and bars are close by. At the campsite, the pitches are spacious enough to give you privacy, and there’s a private exit to the beach. The grounds are clean and well maintained, the pool is clean and has a small bar, and the staff are very helpful. I’ve been coming here for 16 years, and it’s always a pleasure to return.

There’s direct access to Lake Como, groceries nearby, and plenty of shade on the large pitches. Staff were friendly, the pool was nice, and the sanitary facilities were clean. My one disappointment was that there was no soap in the toilets, but all in all it’s a great campsite.
