The rooms are spacious, with balconies overlooking beautiful mountains, and breakfast was a highlight. There was a good range of food, and staff made coffee to order. The hotel grounds are lovely and parking is right on site. The hairdryer could be more powerful, though. It’s about a 25-minute walk to the center, but some of the way runs beside a highway with no dedicated path, which could be risky, especially with kids. A taxi or public transport might be safer. The staff were welcoming, but English communication was limited, so some Italian would help.

Breakfast was good, but sleeping was another matter. Our room was only 100m from the Simplon-Milano railway connection, and cargo trains ran all night. The room was already stifling hot, and even after the receptionist programmed the air conditioning, it didn’t cool at all, so we tried sleeping with the windows open and the traffic noise became impossible. We’d booked a non-smoking room, but the whole place smelled of smoke. The receptionist offered to spray fragrance, but couldn’t move us to another room. Sleeping there was terrible, and our clothes smelled afterward. The shower towel was dirty, as if someone had wiped their butt with it. Disgusting.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and there was plenty of parking. We also had a good breakfast with a nice selection. The location is good, though the room felt a little dated and could use a revamp.

They let us in even though we arrived after closing, which was very considerate. The rooms were decent and breakfast was good. It’s also very close to the main road through Domodossola.
