Be careful with wheeled luggage on the rocky path right outside. The hotel is in Matera’s historic center, and the cave room was great, with a very comfortable bed and a dehumidifier that kept it from feeling very humid. Service was EXCELLENT, and the included breakfast was filling and delicious.

Even though we visited out of season, they served us a generous breakfast with high-quality food. The view was great, the rooms were beautiful, and the service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for everything!

We stayed one night and chose the suite. The room was very spacious and had every comfort, and the location was excellent. But the timed heating was a problem: the radiators went off at some point, and it was extremely cold during the night. The much-praised breakfast was disappointing, just croissants with no choice. As soon as we woke up, the lady stopped us to explain the property. Those explanations might have been welcome, just not first thing in the morning. When I wake up, all I need is coffee.

The rooms have all the comforts you need, including independent air conditioning and a remote-controlled heat pump so you can set the temperature yourself. The staff were welcoming and always ready to help. We also really enjoyed breakfast, especially the traditional local sweets made with fresh, authentic ingredients. A lovely stay.
