The setting is really atmospheric, and the holiday home is beautiful. Everything feels lovely, though it could use some renovation.

Marisa made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, she was so warm and helpful. The apartment is right in the center, which made getting around Matera easy. We stayed over Christmas and found it comfortable, spotless, nicely heated, and thoughtfully decorated down to the small details. Highly recommend it!

The owners were kind, and the apartment was clean, charming, and full of character. I especially loved the view of the Sassi Barisani and the church from the window. It’s beside one of the main squares, so you can walk to pretty much everything or join a tour once you’re there. A couple of things to keep in mind: you can’t drive up to the apartment, though there’s paid parking around 300 meters away for €0.50/hour. Also, the lovely bathroom has no window and opens onto the dining room. The bedroom doesn’t have a window either, just a small opening to the outside at the foot of the room. Those are minor drawbacks compared with all the good points.
