Breakfast was served in a separate building just around the corner, with good coffee and the usual Italian selection of mostly sweet pastries, cakes, and pies. The place itself is best described as quaint, with a little balcony that has amazing views. It also has the modern basics, including heating, air conditioning, bathrooms, and bedrooms.

The hostess was so kind. She spoke great English and met us at Piazza D'uomo to walk us the rest of the way. We loved the beautiful interior, and just outside there’s a great view of the ravine, the old caves, and a sassi district. The historic district and a rupestrian church are both an easy walk away, with plenty of nearby restaurants and pots and pans available if you want to cook. Parking is far away at the other end of the historic district, so you need to be able to carry your bags on foot. We brought a stroller for our little son, but it wasn’t useful on the cobblestones. Still, the location was excellent.

The terrace views were hard to leave, especially in the evening when I just wanted to keep looking instead of going to bed. It wasn’t easy to find the place, but its location gives you a great view in both the morning and evening. Breakfast was great. I think that says it all.
