We spent a month here and loved the bright, well-equipped apartment. It was on the third floor, with an elevator and a terrace facing the sea, and the beach was right downstairs. They changed the linens each week. Thanks for such a great stay, we’ll definitely come back! I can’t understand how anyone could leave such bad, denigrating reviews.

I absolutely would not recommend this place. Our one-week apartment stay came with a string of problems. The toilet backed up and water came out through the shower, flooding the bathroom. When I called the owner, she said someone would come that afternoon, but we’d have to clean up ourselves. There were no rags or floor soap, and my mother couldn’t move her shoulder, so I asked if someone could please come clean it. The annoyed owner said nobody else was available and came herself, clearly irritated by the problem. The next day the bidet started leaking and flooded the bathroom again. We reported it, but nobody came, so we stopped using the bathroom to keep it from turning into a swimming pool. There were issues from the start, too. Check-in was in the afternoon, so when we arrived in the morning we had to leave the car, suitcases, and food parked on the street, where parking cost money. The apartment was dirty, with hair on the floor and a dirty broom and dustpan. On the day we paid the balance, the owner was nowhere to be found. We got no discount for all the trouble. Paying for a stay should come with decent service. A little effort can make people leave happy, but I was angry that I didn’t even get a simple apology.

The room had old furniture, and even hand soap wasn’t provided, so we had to buy some. The doors and parts of the room seem built for people up to 5'11", so anyone taller should watch their head. The elevator felt creepy: you need a key, it gets stuck, and the light goes out. At check-in, the owner was rushing us and didn’t want to wait for us to unload our suitcases. When we left, she called us dirty because we didn’t know what to do with the trash, though she’d never explained it. I wouldn’t stay here again, or return to Cala Gonone. The people didn’t feel like the typically friendly Italians to me. I’d choose Olbia or Cagliari instead.

The location and Wi-Fi were the only things I liked. The rest was a letdown: it was dirty, the bed sagged, and the sea-view terrace in the photos turned out to be a small balcony facing an alley. For what I paid, I expected something quite different.
