B&B Bella Vista

I’ve stayed in all sorts of places across 50 countries, from guest houses and hostels to couch surfing and luxury resorts, and this was easily the worst accommodation I’ve had. The terrace and its view were the only good parts, but even breakfast there was uncomfortable. On the first morning the owner kept talking to us, then started making phone calls beside us when he realized we wanted some peace. The next day loud music from the kitchen woke us up. We couldn’t wait to leave, so we went to a bar in town for breakfast instead. There was very little privacy. He kept knocking to ask whether we’d showered, request our address, or hand over our passports. He also repeatedly urged us to leave a good review. The owner seemed to try too hard to help, but his behavior felt intrusive and out of place. This wasn’t a traditional B&B, but a two-bedroom house with a terrace and shared bathroom, where the owner slept in the kitchen with his dog. The room was awkward, with old, dark, and seemingly dirty furniture that looked like it came from his grandmother’s house. The towels were old beach towels, and the shared bathroom was old and dirty too. Bring your own shampoo and shower gel, and definitely wear flip-flops in the shower. Breakfast was nothing special. It cost €120 for two nights, was cash only, and there was no invoice.
