Carla and Alberto, along with their son, made us feel at home at Il Picco, where we stayed before starting the POC / Percorsi Occitani hike. Their English was very good, and their son could translate as we spoke. They also let us leave our car in their private driveway for a few days, which made the trip much easier. The road up is a little rocky and bumpy, but manageable in a regular car. Our room was modern, quiet, and spotless. Alberto and his family built the place from scratch, and Carla personally prepared and served a fantastic breakfast with local specialties. She and the family helped us plan the hike, lending maps and sharing useful tips about routes and sights. After the hike, they even picked us up at Dronero Bus station because our car was still there. Carla gave us her number and said to get in touch if anything happened on the trail, which made us feel safer. It felt like we’d made friends. We’d happily reach out again if we return to the area, and recommend staying here.

Carla’s advice was more precise and useful than what you’d get from a tourist information office. This is a great base for excursions in the Maira Valley, and Dronero is a lovely town with everything you need. The B&B Il Picco is charming, with thoughtful care in every detail and excellent cleanliness. Breakfast featured local products like yogurt, honey, and apple juice, along with the cakes, bread, and jams Mrs. Carla makes. There’s a real quiet here that makes it easy to relax and take in nature. The road in isn’t especially convenient, though it’s only 3 km and half of it is paved. Everything was perfect. The steep unpaved road was manageable in an ordinary car, and the journey was worth it. The place is beautiful, quiet, well kept, and nicely designed, with lovely spots to sit in the garden. The service was very friendly and breakfast was delicious. Top-notch!

Carla is wonderful at welcoming guests and serving breakfast, and she has lots of helpful information for exploring the enchanting Valle Maira. The property is comfortable and carefully maintained, with a lovely outdoor area. A beautiful spot surrounded by greenery and quiet. No praise feels exaggerated. Highly recommended.
